Bear’s Breech – The Center of the Blossom

Acanthus is a genus of perennials gown for their large, deeply cut, deep green leaves, and their tall showy flower spikes.   They prefer full sun and warm conditions.  The one outside my front door is growing in partial shade, suffers serious neglect and returns faithfully year after year to endure such treatment.  Hardy to a fault.
